Hitachi Elevator Engineering (S) Pte. Ltd. came into existence in 1972 as an overseas service base for sales, installation and maintenance of Hitachi elevators, escalators and moving sidewalks in Singapore.

In October 2010, Hitachi Asia Ltd ("HAS") transferred its entire elevator and escalator business and operation to Hitachi Elevator Engineering (S) Pte. Ltd. This was in line with the strategic business decision by our head office, Hitachi Ltd. in Japan, to restructure Hitachi's elevator and escalator businesses and operations in Asia (including the Middle East but excluding Japan and China). Hitachi Elevator Engineering (S) Pte. Ltd. was then renamed as Hitachi Elevator Asia Pte. Ltd.
