Pilot pens first arrived in Singapore when an overseas office was set up in 1926. Pilot Pen (S) Pte Ltd (PPS) a subsidiary company of Pilot Corporate of Japan was set up in Singapore in 1985, PPS has since established itself as the leading brand of disposable writing instruments in the country.

Throughout its establishment, Pilot has been dedicated and meticulous in meeting the needs of its consumers. Through tireless research to discover new breakthroughs in technologies, Pilot continuously strives to improve the quality and pleasure in writing. Not only is the brand well-known for easy-to-use writing instruments such as ballpoint pens, gel pens, liquid ink pens and mechanical pencils, it also offers other world-class writing equipment such as whiteboards, chalkless boards and its top-of-the-line fountain pens. In Japan, Pilot remains the oldest and largest manufacturer of writing instruments.

A sizeable proportion of our customers are made up of students and Pilot targets this market through its sponsorship of student events. In 1994, Pilot started sponsoring the “Pilot Pen National Primary Schools Individual Badminton Championships”. This was followed by the “Pilot Pen National Inter-Primary Schools Badminton Championships in 1995. This support of the local badminton scene cumulated in 1997 with Pilot sponsoring all three titles in the schools badminton tournaments, which was then subsequently, renamed the “Pilot Pen Cup”. This co-operation with the CCA of Ministry of Education continues until year 2012.
