Nichias has used the Tombo (Dragonfly) trademark for its products since its inception. According to ancient Japanese legends, the first emperor of Japan, Jimmu, on reaching Yamato in 607 B.C. commented on the great number one dragonflies. Later this district and then the whole of Japan came to be known as the dragonfly islands. As the result the dragonfly came to be accepted as the symbol of Japan. A dragonfly marking was often displayed on swords, armor, spears etc. because it also symbolized "Victory" and "Bravery". In as much as the dragonfly has such a deep significance for Japan, it is appropriate that the dragonfly trademark has been chosen by Nichias as a symbol of its products which are an essential basic support for the Japanese economy.
